The company will compete in October and November of this year at the NHS in the North West Excellence in Supply Awards, the Laundry and Cleaning News Awards and the LADA Awards.
The NHS in the North West Excellence in Supply Awards take place in Blackpool and Berendsen is shortlisted for its support services. Berendsen is renowned for its ability to consistently deliver its service and meet customer needs. This was evident in December 2015 when Storm Desmond flooded its Lancaster facility and it implemented its disaster recovery strategy. Despite the problems this caused, its carefully designed contingency plan ensured that service was maintained.
Berendsen is also nominated for the Best Sustainability Policy at the first ever Laundry & Cleaning News Awards. The company has invested significantly in recent years in environmental practices to minimise its impact to the environment. Since 2008, Berendsen has cut its water usage by 55.5% – which equates to more than one billion litres of water per year – and reduced its carbon footprint by 26.4%, which is equivalent to the emissions of 4,500 households.
Finally, Berendsen will find out if it has won the coveted Commercial Laundry of the Year award at the Laundry and Drycleaning Awards (LADAs) ceremony in November. All aspects of its operations are considered, from the ability to consistently meet the needs of customers, to its ethical textiles sourcing strategy and environmentally friendly laundry processes.
Paul Swift, Business Development Manager at Berendsen, said: "We are delighted to have been shortlisted three most important industry awards. This is a significant achievement and is testament to the hard work and commitment that our team members put in day in, day out, to ensure the best possible performance and service for all stakeholders and the environment. We're looking forward to the announcements and hope we win a hat-trick of awards."
